Mental Performance Coach Joe Cardinale

Coach Cardinale's journey to Mental Performance began in 2006 during his junior year of college at Drew University and he didn't even know it.

Joe finished as one of the best hitters the MAC Conference during that season, batting .414, slugging .654, accumulating 55 Hits, 6 Home Runs, 42 RBIs, and 87 Total Bases.  What he didn't realize was that the best time to fix the roof was when the sun is shining.

The pressure to repeat that success during the following season was overwhelming, and with half the season gone - Joe was batting well under .200 feeling like he was in quicksand. No matter how many hours of tee-work, soft-toss and batting practice he put in, Joe was simply mentally unprepared to handle this adversity. It was then he discovered the book "Heads Up Baseball" by Ken Ravizza and Tom Hanson. The book stressed the importance of playing the game one pitch at a time, and provided practical strategies on how to do so.  From that point on, Joe was able to revive his senior season, finishing as an All-Conference First-Baseman for the third consecutive season.

After college, Joe became a High School Business teacher and Varsity Baseball coach.  In 12 full seasons as a head coach, Joe has a career record of 206-112 (.648 win pct), 3x conference championships, and was selected as the Morris County Coach of the Year in 2011. He also spent 10 years coaching Assistant Varsity girls basketball as well as indoor track.

Coaching the mental game has always been a staple in Coach Cardinale's programs.  He achieved his certification and mentorship under world renowned Mental Performance Coach Brian Cain.  Joe brings a passion and energy that are contagious, and believes that assisting others in pursuit of their success is more fulfilling than achieving his own personal success.
